Just make a pattern of your own, select all of it, and click Object > Pattern > Objects to pattern You can define your own custom patterns in Inkscape if the standard set aren't doing it for you. Select the Node tool in the left-hand panel. There is a list with different patterns, for example, Stripes 1:1. Now, you can select an object and set the fill color to pattern. Then, select the image and select Object -> Pattern -> Objects to Pattern. Click On Edit Then Click On Tile (You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt+I).
